Declutter

Whilst the task of decluttering can be considered a simple task, for many it might be one of the hardest things to do.  Sorting through items can bring to the surface deep emotions of memories connected to these tangible physical things that can be very hard to separate from, however the act of doing so can bring a feeling of new found freedom and the ability to move forward and move on to new beginnings and new possibilities.
It is important when going through your items to be thoughtful as by surrendering to the catharsis of experiencing any feelings and memories you have tied to these objects, you’re opening yourself up to healing—and in turn, your space will feel completely charged with that energy; as emotionally cleansed and renewed as you are.
These three simple steps might help you to sort through a way to declutter your favourite space.

Step 1: Start by having a completely empty space.
This is the biggest physical aspect of decluttering, but it is important to take every single item out of the room and have it completely empty.

Step 2. Visualise in your mind what you want the space to look like
Now you have your blank canvas you need to ask yourself what you want this space to be for, and how do you visualise it to look like. This will give you a clear start moving forward on what items you will bring back into the space.

Step 3: Sort your items into two piles
You will need to have two piles, one of the things you want to keep and the one of the things you no longer need. The things you keep should only be items that bring you joy or hold strong connected memories, or things that fit with the visualisation you have created for the room. The items to be disposed of should consist of things that you could donate to someone or things that are well overdue to be trashed.
